Fibre technicians are continuing to progress restoration activities. Temporary pit installation has been completed, and fibre preparation works are underway, with splicing at the second end of one of the two affected cables scheduled to commence at 18:00 AEDT. Affected services are expected to progressively restore as fibre splicing progresses.

To facilitate the restoration of services, an additional temporary joint will now be installed at an additional pit location. Our upstream carrier vocus has identified a service disruption affecting Vocus Transmission services located between Sydney, NSW and Brisbane, Queensland on SB1 route due to a potential fibre issue.
Their engineering teams are actively investigating the issue and working to restore affected services as quickly as possible. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

Vocus T3 transmission team have confirmed a fibre break between the Somersby (SOMR) and Northville (NORV) CEVs. Our field technician has attended the fault location and successfully identified the exact point of failure. Initial investigations indicate the cable damage is likely the result of vandalism.
